As we celebrate our wedding, we feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people we love.
Having our family and friends there to share the day with us really is the greatest gift we could ask for, so we truly don’t need any wedding presents.
Instead, if you would like to mark the occasion, we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider making a donation to one of three charities that are very close to our hearts: Marie Curie, Pancreatic Cancer UK and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
We are doing this in loving memory of Andrew Whitmore and Derek Kenna — two very special people who will be very much in our thoughts on our wedding day.
Andrew had pancreatic cancer, and during his illness he and those around him were supported by Marie Curie. We will always remember the care, compassion and dignity they provided at such a difficult time.
We are also supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK in Andrew’s memory. We hope that donations made in his honour can help support other people and families affected by pancreatic cancer and contribute towards a future in which more can be done against this devastating disease.
Our third charity is the RAF Benevolent Fund, in memory of Robert’s Dad, who proudly served in the Royal Air Force. Remembering him by helping members of the RAF family, past and present, feels especially meaningful to us.
If you would like to make a donation, please choose whichever of the three charities means the most to you. We would love to see the support shared across all three causes.
There will be people missing from our wedding day whom we wish could be there.
Remembering Andrew and Derek in this way means that, while we celebrate the beginning of our married life, we can also honour two people who remain an important part of our lives and our families.
Thank you for celebrating with us, for remembering them with us, and for helping three charities that mean so much to our family.
With all our love and thanks.
Marie Curie
Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.
RAF Benevolent Fund
The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF’s leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. In 2024 we assisted more than 64,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2026 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.
Pancreatic Cancer UK
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
